Past Signs that pointed to war of Gog and Magog

Russia, Iran and Turkey are preparing to invade Israel! This may sound like a stretch right now, but the past few weeks have demonstrated this when one looks at the news through the lens of bible prophecy. The bible in Ezekiel 38 and 39 predicts a war that will involve the nations above along with others mentioned in the previous article that will attack Israel just before the start of the tribulation. I showed how these preparations are going on right before us with Russia already taking the lead as prophesied.

Harbingers of war?

Every matter must be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses

2 Corinthians 13:1

However, God always confirms his word through other means and one of the well known ones is through signs in the heavens. Events clearly building up to this war have occurred in the past in conjunction with major signs in the heavens. These signs were the “Bethlehem Star” and the Sukkot “Blood Moon” of 2015.

The Bethlehem Star of 2015 and the Iran Nuclear deal

The bible talks about the presence of a star in the heavens when Jesus was born that God used to signal the event. It has been suggested by some that this was possibly the conjunction of Jupiter and Venus that occurred on the 17th of June, 2BC. On the 30th of June 2015, we witnessed a similar conjunction when the two planets were very close together, forming a bright “double star” in the sky.

June 30th 2015 was also the initial deadline that had been set for the Iran nuclear deal to be reached. The deal was designed to reduce Iran’s ability to produce Uranium and Plutonium which are necessary to make nuclear weapons. In return for verifiably abiding by its commitments, Iran would receive relief from sanctions from the United Nations, European Union and United States.

Iran is Israels arch-enemy and its leaders have on several occasions openly called for the Jewish State to be wiped off the map! Iran also funds terror groups that attack Israel like Hamas. It is therefore not surprising that Israel felt threatened by the world allowing Iran to legally develop a nuclear program which Iran claimed was for peaceful purposes like energy production, but which Israel felt could be clandestinely used to develop nuclear weapons to attack it.

Israels Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu strongly opposed the deal because according to him, Iran would still be able to make a nuclear bomb by cheating on the required inspections. He was also concerned about the “sunset clause” of the deal that lifted restrictions on Iran’s nuclear program after 2025. Also keep in mind that it was Magog (Russia) that was helping Iran develop its nuclear technology.

These were significant developments because according to the bible, two things are mentioned that indicate that this war will involve nuclear technology:

1. The weapons left over from the war will be used for fuel for seven years! That would have been an outrageous statement in Ezekiel’s day, but would be possible today if nuclear weapons used in the war are re purposed for energy production! Ezekiel 39:9 says, ” Then those who live in the towns of Israel will go out and use the weapons for fuel and burn them up—the small and large shields, the bows and arrows, the war clubs and spears. For seven years they will use them for fuel. “
2. The way the human remains will be handled sounds like there would have been some kind of contamination, perhaps due to nuclear radiation. Ezekiel 39:15-16 briefly describes the cleanup procedure this way, “As they go through the land, anyone who sees a human bone will leave a marker beside it until the gravediggers bury it in the Valley of Hamon Gog, near a town called Hamonah. And so they will cleanse the land”

The Sukkot Connection

There is a biblical Jewish festival that has an important link to the War of Gog and Magog. This is the Feast of Tabernacles. God commanded Israel to observe this Feast, also called Sukkot over a period of seven days.

On the fifteenth day of the seventh month, hold a sacred assembly and do no regular work. Celebrate a festival to the Lord for seven days.

Leviticus 29:12

This festival was to be celebrated by the people of Israel by dwelling in foliage covered booths called Sukkah’s to commemorate the temporary shelters that they dwelt in as God was leading them from Egypt to the Promised Land of Canaan.

On the Sabbath that falls during the week of Sukkot, the section of the Books of Prophets that is read in synagogues all across the world is from the Book of Ezekiel 38:18-39:16, which deals with the War of Gog and Magog.

This festival in 2019 was celebrated from October 13th to 20th. On the 9th of October, Turkey invaded North Eastern Syria to create what they called a “Safe Zone” to resettle Syrian refugees currently in Turkey and to clear the area of Kurds whom they perceived as a threat. A permanent ceasefire between Turkey and the Kurds in the area invaded was only announced after President Erdogan met President Putin of Russia in Sochi where they reached an agreement on how to handle the “Safe Zone” on the 22nd of October.

This meant that for the entire duration of Sukkot this year, Turkey a player mentioned in this coming war drew closer to Israel by invading Syria and took over a significant chunk of land from its neighbor! Not only that, as this was happening, the Jews were reading from the book of Ezekiel concerning the prophesied war of Gog and Magog as they were celebrating an important Feast linked to the End Times! Only God could have setup such a convergence for the purpose of warning his people of what was coming.

The 2015 Sukkot Blood Moon and Magog’s entry into Syria

“Therefore, son of man, prophesy and say to Gog, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “On that day when My people Israel dwell safely, will you not know it? Then you will come from your place out of the far north, you and many peoples with you, all of them riding on horses, a great company and a mighty army.”

Ezekiel 38:14-15

The connection with Sukkot doesn’t end there. We know that whenever a Blood Moon occurs on one of the biblical Jewish Feast days, it usually is signalling something of great significance prophetically, especially in connection to Israel. In 2015, there was a Blood Moon that occurred on the 27th and 28th of September at the start of Sukkot. That year, Sukkot was from the 27th of September to the 4th of October.

As was mentioned in the previous post, the 30th of September 2015 was the day that Magog, or Russia entered into the Syrian war, North of Israel and as can be seen, this was during Sukkot! Russia is the prophesied nation to lead the alliance that will invade Israel during the war of Gog and Magog.

The End is near!

As was presented in the last post, the Syrian War is setting the stage for this coming prophetic war. Not only that, three key players in the war of Gog and Magog are now already in Syria, just North of Israel in preparation for this war. Key events in regards to these players and their actions have happened during major signs in the heavens. The convergence of all these things cannot be coincidence, but proof that God’s Word is true and that we are truly living in the Last Days!
