The Restoration of Israel and the World

In a previous article titled “Is the Coronavirus being used by God to call us to repentance?“, I showed how God has used the Australian bush fires, the African and Middle East locust invasion and the Coronavirus pandemic to send a message to the World to repent from sin. This conclusion was reached after comparing this sequence of disasters with 2 Chronicles 7:13-14 which says,

When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people, if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

However it seems that there is more to this message than was initially shared.

The Prophetic meanings of the Coronavirus lockdowns

Starting in March of 2020, many nations around the world including Israel started to lockdown their populations in order to slow down the spread of the Coronavirus. What was striking about this was that in Israel, this happened during the Feast of Passover. This Feast commemorates the time God sent the angel of death to judge the Egyptians for refusing to release the Israelites to go to the Promised Land. God, through Moses instructed the Israelites to stay “locked-down” in their houses on the night when the angel of death was to kill the firstborns in the land. The angel would only “passover” the Israelite’s houses if they smeared the blood of a lamb without blemish on the lintels and posts of their doors (Exodus 11 and 12). This year was the only other time in history that the Israelites were in their houses while judgment was being executed around the world through the Pandemic!

The other time a lockdown is mentioned in the bible is when Noah and his family were confined on the ark for a year during the judgment of the Great Flood. This judgment was not only because of the sin of man, but was also because of the sin of angels who somehow impregnated women on earth. The women then gave birth to giants mentioned in the bible called the Nephilim!

When human beings began to increase in number on the earth and daughters were born to them, the sons of God saw that the daughters of humans were beautiful, and they married any of them they chose. Then the Lord said, “My Spirit will not contend with humans forever, for they are mortal; their days will be a hundred and twenty years.” The Nephilim were on the earth in those days—and also afterward—when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown.

Genesis 6:1-4

This unholy union between angels and women was the source of some of the “myths” about giants that we know of like the Titans of ancient Greece.

In ancient Greek stories, the Titans were giant gods who were the children of Gaia, the Earth goddess, and Uranus, the Sky god.

The bible says that Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God (Genesis 6:9).

Comparing the pattern of the lockdown scriptures with what happened during the COVID-19 lockdowns, we see that God was sending the message that just like the Israelite houses smeared with lambs blood were a source of safety, the only safety we have from Gods ultimate judgment for sin is Jesus who shed his blood for us on the cross. God is calling the World to Salvation.

For those in the church who have accepted Jesus as Lord, God expects us to be transformed through a mindset change by the working of his Word in us as we read and meditate on it. This helps us live Holy and blameless lives that make us qualify for deliverance from Gods coming wrath, just like Noah was because of his blameless and faithful walk with God. God is calling the church to purification and her deliverance from judgment will be through the Rapture.

If my People…

I initially related 2 Chronicles 7:13-14 in regards to what is happening with the church where God said, “my people”. Even though this has truth to it because the church is grafted into Israel, God recently made me reread this scripture with the original context in mind, with it referring to the people of Israel.

What immediately jumped out of the text was the phrase, “…I will forgive their sin and will heal their land“. Right now Israel’s problems are to do with its land which is a great source of contention among the nations! The solution to this endless land conflict has eluded many Israeli and World leaders. Not only that, Israel currently occupies only a small fraction of the land that God promised to Abraham! However God was promising Solomon to resolve these issues if His people Israel repent and turn back to him. Other scriptures back up this relationship that God has with Israel and their land.

But if they will confess their sins and the sins of their ancestors—their unfaithfulness and their hostility toward me, which made me hostile toward them so that I sent them into the land of their enemies—then when their uncircumcised hearts are humbled and they pay for their sin, I will remember my covenant with Jacob and my covenant with Isaac and my covenant with Abraham, and I will remember the land.

Leviticus 26:40-42

Jesus will return to rule the earth only after Israel repents

Not only is Israels repentance a condition of the restoration of its land, but its also a condition for the coming of Jesus to rule in Jerusalem! This is because Israel failed to recognize its Messiah Jesus on his first coming.

Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing. Look, your house is left to you desolate. ‘For I tell you, you will not see me again until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.‘”

Matt 23:37-39

According to the bible, Israel will only come to the point of total and absolute surrender to Jesus after great suffering during the Tribulation when the antichrist will rule the earth!

Immediately after the tribulation of those days: The sun will be darkened, and the moon will not shed its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the celestial powers will be shaken. Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the land will mourn; and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

Matt 24:29-30 (Many bible versions translate the phrase “all the tribes of the land” as “all the people of the world“, but that is a less accurate translation)

The whole point of the Tribulation will therefore be to bring Israel to the point of repentance.

What is the point of today’s plagues matching 2 Chronicles 7:13-14?

The judgments of the drought, locusts and the Coronavirus that we are currently witnessing are clearly pointing to the words God spoke to Solomon in 2 Chronicles 7:13-14. Since this is the case, then events leading to the repentance of Israel have been initiated! This is also supported by other prophecies that have been shared on this blog that we are witnessing coming to pass, like one that said that Israeli PM Netanyahu’s 3rd consecutive term in office would be followed by the end times!

God said that if his people Israel repented, he would hear, forgive and restore their land. Their forgiveness and full restoration will only happen through Jesus Christ whom they currently reject as their Messiah. God is not only calling the World but also Israel to Salvation!

The restoration of Israel means restoration of the World

Jesus will come back and rule from Jerusalem after the Tribulation. He will have Israel fully restored on the land as God has promised them after they acknowledge Him as their Lord and Savior. The World will benefit from His reign which will be characterized by unprecedented Peace and Prosperity!

We therefore should not only be praying for the repentance and restoration of the church, but we should be praying for Israel to recognize Jesus Christ as their true Messiah so that the promises of God about the elimination of sin and restoration of the World as it was before the Fall can come to pass!

Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord, and that he may send the Messiah, who has been appointed for you—even Jesus.  Heaven must receive him until the time comes for God to restore everything, as he promised long ago through his holy prophets.
